Where to Party in Zadar and Wider

Re-charge. That’s what most of us aspire to and/or plan to do during summer. After months of studying/working, we crave sleeping long without alarm clocks waking us up, relaxing on a beach with the sound of waves and slight breeze caressing the skin, sharing a drink or two with friends and staying up late without having to worry about the state we’ll be in the next day, meeting new people and going to exciting places, etc. In a nutshell, we want to take things easy, but also enjoy the summer to the fullest. Throughout Croatia there’s so much going on during the summer months and Zadar is no exception. And a great day spent buzzing around is bound to be followed by a wicked night out.

Stay put in Zadar …

With Zadar as your primary destination, you won’t need to worry about finding places to go out. Just remember - it’s an absolute must to try the traditional and original sour cherry liqueur, Maraschino, whose origins go way back 500 years. It’s one of those souvenirs you won’t want to leave Croatia without. The liqueur also happens to share the name with one of the most popular bars in Zadar, Maraschino bar situated close to the historical peninsula. You might be guided by your love of music or popularity of a place, when deciding where to go out. Basically, it’s up to you to mingle with the locals in any of the bars frequented by the Zadrans, to enjoy a few cocktails in the cool lounge bar Ledana, to watch out for a great concert in the former port warehouse Arsenal or to enjoy excellent music on the city walls in the Garden.

… or buzz around

Another Garden you’ll find in Tisno, southwards from Zadar less than an hour away, which boasts non-stop music events throughout the summer. The Garden Tisno is a magnet for party animals just as the Zrće beach in Novalja on the Pag island is. Frequently referred to as the Croatian Ibiza, Zrće is the place to be when it comes to a 24hour rage with famous DJ-s who host summer parties as additional incentives. You can’t go on a party spree in Croatia without stopping at Novalja - it’s as simple as that. Another event which celebrates music is the Terraneo festival near Šibenik taking place in August. Even though it’s only a bit more than an hour away from Zadar, the festival also has a campsite and catering facilities with traditional cuisine and drinks, so you don’t have to leave the festival site at all. You can just relax and enjoy the excellent music.

Folks, but that’s NOT all

Your plan to recharge is by going party and festival hopping? Then consider other events throughout Croatia as well. They may not be within one-hour reach from Zadar, but it’s summer and you’re on holiday. You can do whatever you feel like doing, just make sure your mind and body gets a well-deserved rest. So, let the games begin! (And last all summer long).
